Ajax Search Suggest is knocking products out of cart

Hi,
Great contribution makes it easy for customers to search
ive noticed if you use ajax search suggest again after adding a product to cart it knocks the session id of and the product that was in the cart is gone
how can this be fixed to keep the session id
